I don't think we're in Kansas anymore Toto...

So it seemed very appropriate to write a little piece on Untin as that appears to be where the current party (please note they have no snazzy name, unlike all the really good parties of adventurers) have decided to commit suicide.

The origins of the jungles of Untin are lost to time.  What is known is that some form of major magical catastrophe hit the area thousands of years ago and caused the jungles to rise up and devour the civilization which had existed in the area prior to the event.  It was the same event that brought about the local desert area where once was a flourishing ecosystem.

Untin was the birth place of civilization as there were cities filled with men and other humanoids before the Eastern Reaches were even embroiled in the monster war.  Whatever the catastrophe that caused the fall of the civilization the fall was swift and magical in nature.  Many have reported detecting enormously powerful vestiges of magic throughout the jungles with no apparent cause or source.

For millennium the jungles were ignored; mostly due to the large number of dinosaurs and Green Dragons which made their homes there.  Eventually the adventuring party known as the Champions of Porth entered the jungles and emerged without a number of their party, including the then Dwarven King - Marlowe Barak.  Following this the borders of Untin were closed and began being patrolled by Justician Knights - entering the borders was punishable by death.

The Justician's nearly ended up at War with the Dwarves over the death of Marlow Barak, however a peace was brokered and the Dwarven nations sent their greatest builders to erect an impenetrable wall around the jungle and the unknown terrors of Untin were left to history.
